Frustrated...

Here's why:
My friend, Elizabeth, and I bought these 3 month trial memberships to our local gym, Family Fitness. Unfortunately, nothing on the forms or anywhere else indicated that childcare was NOT provided. (I did the same thing last year, and it WAS provided.) Well, my friend has twin boys, and obviously would need the childcare. We get there today, pumped and ready to get to business. We go to drop the boys off in the kid's area, and they ask us if we paid. HUH? What are talking about? They said, "If you bought the trial membership, you have to pay $4 per child for childcare." Oh. Not too bad, we think... until I ask, "Is that a one-time fee?" "Oh, no. It's every visit." WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?! You've GOT to be kidding me?! So, for ONE WEEK of working out, my friend will shell out $40! That's twice as much as the membership cost us! So I start calculating... if she joined as a permanent member, it would cost her about $60/month. With just this trial membership, it will cost her $7/month PLUS $40/week -- roughly $170 per MONTH! That's just ridiculous!!!!

The other thing that happened to me was that as we were picking up her boys after we finished our workout, this other little boy was standing there with his mom. He was probably around 7 years old. Well he was staring at me, so I looked down at him, smiled and said, "Hi!" He said, "Hi. You're FAT." I didn't think I could have possibly heard him correctly, so I said, "What?" He said it again. I looked at him and said, "That's not nice." He said, "Well, you are fat." All the while, mom is standing RIGHT THERE, and says NOTHING. Ugh. I can't STAND parents who allow their children to be so rude. She seriously just let him say that. GEEEZE!

That's why I'm frustrated.

Our 1st purchase(s)!

I've been hunting around on Craigs List to find things for our baby at a reduced cost... I actually ended up finding an adorable bassinet for about 1/2 the original cost. Todd and I drove to Kingwood on Saturday to pick it up and ended up coming home with 2 other things (a bouncer and a baby glider-in pic) that will eventually reside at Grammy and Grampy's house.

Bows, Bows, Bows!!!

Last week, my friends, Jen and Sandra, and myself decided to have a bow party... Well, technically it was Sandra's idea, and we planned it about 4 weeks ago, but who's counting? :) Sandra and I crashed Jen's dining table and had all sorts of ribbons, clips, and little bits of things everywhere! It was FABULOUS!!! We got there around 10:15 or so, and I stayed until *gasp* after 6!!! (I'm sorry, Jen! I didn't know it was so late!!) So now, I'm just waiting another 10 weeks to find out if my little baby is going to wear bows or give bows to his cousin, Sadie Grace! Here's hopin for the first option! lol! Check out all the bows I made!!! Of course, Todd thinks I'm crazy...

A little one on the way...

We're pregnant!!! Here's how we found out:

Mother's Day... My sister, Amy, was in town, from Colorado (1st time in almost a year and a half!). She and I got a home pregnancy test from CVS and ran over to my house to take it. Literally as soon as I set it on the counter, Amy said, "Liz, you're pregnant!" I giggled a nervous little sound and then said, "Oh my gosh! I'm pregnant!" It was one of the most amazing feelings ever! Now, you're thinking, why was your sister with you, but not your husband? :) He was working at the cafe', so I actually got to get creative on how I would tell him when he got home... all the while he was working away without a clue that his life was about to change forever! I made him a picture frame (see below)... the little star in the top corner says "Attention: Star-dust will settle at 109 Cypress in 9 months!" I wrapped it up and handed it to him when he got home (of course, he was so tired, he just sat there...) I wanted him to open it 10 hours ago!!! lol! So, after he pulled the frame out, he read the star (his eyes grew a half inch wider, or so), then he read the quote, and just looked up at me and said, "Honey, are you pregnant?!" I whispered a shaky "YES!" back to him, and he jumped out of his chair and scooped me up into the sweetest hug ever!!!
